The Volunteer Housing Initiative (VHI) is an impartial, non political, non-religious, not for profit organization that focuses on providing shelter to relief workers regardless of race, religion, or creed. Our mission is to arrange housing at no or low cost for qualifying relief workers and volunteers responding to humanitarian crises throughout the world so that they may be better prepared to help others. VHI is funded by voluntary contributions of individuals and private sponsors.

The management and board of directors at VHI are unpaid and recognize the significance and value in assisting the many volunteers and relief workers who put others before themselves. We work in partnership with international organizations to identify those in need of our services. We also go out in the field and identify independent volunteers who are also in need of our services.
